Headwork We are set up and experienced with all modern four stroke motorcycles including but not limited to: Honda CRF's and XR's, Yamaha WR's and YZF's, Kawasaki KX's and KLX's, Suzuki RMZ's and KTM SX's, EXC's, MXC's. It is extremely important with the newer, high revving, high output four stroke engines, that the valve train be optimized for performance and longevity. This includes the cutting of the seat angles and widths, the replacement of the seats and guides when needed, and the cleaning up of residual casting flaws and defects inherent in today's parts. Valve Guide Replacement Guides are often the most overlooked component of a valve job. Loose guides cause the valve stem to flex and wobble in the seat. This can lead to early failure of the new valves or worse. We charge $ 15.00 labor per guide to remove, replace and ream/hone the new guide to size.
Valve Seat Replacement We do seat replacement. Although most of the time it's not really cost effective unless you have spent a fortune on porting and polishing or are looking for a special material in the seats. We charge $ 65.00 labor per seat to remove, replace and cut the new seat.
Valve Seat Cutting We do seat cutting A la Carte or as part of a complete head service. We charge $ 10.00 labor per seat to cut all three angles of the seat to Factory spec's. We can also cut for oversize valves at no additional cost.
Valve Jobs Complete Our complete valve job includes disassembly of the valve train components, bead blasting the ports and combustion chamber to remove all carbon, checking the valve guides for wear, cutting the seats to the proper angle and width, lapping in new valves (where required) and installation of all new valve components. We charge $ 75.00 for 4 valve heads and $ 90.00 for 5 valve heads.
Porting and Polishing Our porting and polishing is priced on a case by case basis depending on the work to be done. Our prices start at $ 100.00 for the basic P & P job.
